To simplify the testing and certification procedures for KC certification, RRA issued the RRA NOTICE 2018-51 document. Since July 2018, the following changes have been made to KC certification:

1. for Equality series products or the same product, you can not conduct second tests.

2. a committee was set up to classify the description of equipment.

3. The supervision of Conformity Certification applications has been relaxed. For projects that do not provide circuit diagrams, retest reports are required to be submitted to RRA every two years.

4. The certification procedure for the same product is simplified. Only the consent of the original certificate holder is required. Other applicants can apply for a KC certificate without re-testing. The new applicant needs to provide the consent of the original certificate holder.

5.multi-licensee new rules, multiple licensee can obtain KC test report through joint application. (now, only one licensee gets the KC certificate and cannot get it jointly).

6. Certification types for certain products will change from Certification to Conformity Registration, such as RFID/USN products.

7. Add a new category of electric bicycles, standard KN15194, including motorcycles, electric skateboards, electric wheelchairs, motorcycles and other similar products.

8. The KC tag changes as follows, with the transition period from 2018.08.01 to 2019.06.30, before which old and new numbers can be used, followed by certificate numbers issued under the new rules.

(1) delete the 2 categories (test type and applicant type) in the KC certificate number.
